Back in May, I highlighted Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and their beguiling song “Home”
I thought, and still do, think the song is unique, and oddball enough to perfectly cater to my tastes.
Here’s a video of the song to refresh your memory and give you a few minutes of a good tune:
Meanwhile, on YouTube, most songs have fans that are rabid enough so that they do their own versions of the tunes. Frankly, most of the time, these amateur versions range from sort of OK to way beyond dreadful. I tend to ignore these stabs at “talent.”
But I couldn’t resist a video I found of a man and his young daughter doing their version of Edward Sharpe’s “Home.” Their video is so sweet and charming I have to share it.
The performance is by Jorge and Alexa Narvaez of San Diego. Jorge Narvaez describes himself as a single father trying to work his way through college. He’s a singer, songwriter, writer and ethnic studies major.
The Narvaez’s video has gone big time viral, so father and daughter might be on the cusp of a new career.
Watch below. You’ll definitely smile. I sure did. Go Jorge and Alexa!
