Post-Halloween Ice

We had an ice storm here in St. Albans, Vermont today. It’s pretty unusual to get something like this so soon after Halloween.

This Halloween pumpkin's been stabbed to death and today's weather put the corpse on ice.

Usually, ice storms hit after Thanksgiving.

The ice allowed me to take some spooky pictures, displayed in this post,  that would fit terrifically on Halloween itself.

Maybe next year, we’ll have an ice storm on Halloweeen, and things can get really scary.

Ice-covered lilac twigs in front of my house Monday night look like cold bones on a corpse.

A deliberately out of focus shot shows spooky fog, a leafless bush made shiny by freezing rain, and ominous shadows in front of my house Monday night

An ice-covered Halloween decoration scowls menacingly in my yard Monday evening.
