What would you do if you walked down a city street, and found a tree with a whole bunch of dollar bills on it.
A Chicago writer and short film producer named Amy Krouse Rosenthal wondered the same thing, so she affixed 100, $1 dolllar bills to a tree in Chicago to see what passersby did. The resulting video is a bit unexpected, but fun to watch:
It’s proof that too often, we’re so wrapped up in our world that we don’t see the unexpected. In our minds, if it’s not “supposed” to be there, then it isn’t. The video is a lesson to really drink in our surroundings.
I also liked that nobody just picked the tree clean. People who did notice it took one or two dollars, smiled and moved on. Makes me think people aren’t so selfish after all.
